Bittergourd with Tofu

Another vegetarian day for me, instead of the usual bittermelon with egg, bittermelon with shrimp, or ground meat... I simply added tofu with it. The white bittergourd or bittermelon isn't bitter at all. First I fried the tofu until golden brown, move at the side. I added additional virgin oil and sauteed the garlic and tomato. Followed by bittergourd. Sauteed them all, then add salt and pepper + chili powder! That's it!
Ingredients  for 2 servings
1 small bittergourd
1 big tomato
garlic, salt, pepper, chili powder, olive oil

Green Beans with Shrimp

What will I do with my green beans? I looked in the freezer and found shrimp... yeah why not green beans and shrimp sautee. Previously, I cook asparagus with shrimp and it's good! So  I prepared the ingredients:
-green beans
-shrimp
-onion
-garlic
-ginger
-salt and pepper
-chili powder
-lemon (instead of vinegar)

I sauteed the garlic, onion, and ginger, then added the shrimp. When it's ready, put in the green beans, salt, pepper, chili powder, and squeezed lemon. That's all, served it with rice...

Chicken with Peanut Sauce

Chicken with Peanut SauceI really like the mix taste of sweetness of peanut, lemon, and soysauce. Here's another trial and error, I thought of putting them together to make a sauce. First, I rub the chicken breast with lemon and salt (seasalt is not that salty, it's a little bit sweeter) before I grilled it.

Ingredients:
2 boneless chicken
1 tablespoon light soysauce (or any soysauce)
2 tablespoon crunchy peanut butter (or smooth)
3 tablespoon lemon juice (or more)
4 tablespoon water
Note: garnishing (optional) like cilantro or peanuts

Procedure:
Heat the pan and place the chicken, cooked for about 10 minutes on each side. In a saucepan, put the soysauce, peanut butter, lemon juice, water, and pepper. Simmer while mixing well. When the chicken is cooked, drizzled the peanut sauce on top. If desired, garnish it with fried peanut or fresh cilantro. Serve it with fresh salad or noodles!

I made it a little bit sour, since I already soak the chicken in lemon before I grilled it!

Cabbage and Potato Soup

Cabbage Soup 2As mentioned in previous blog (Cabbage Soup 1), i took out the beef Tuesday night to thaw, put it back again since I don't meat on Wednesdays and Fridays. Here's the story, last night I thaw it and today I cooked Beef Soup ( Nilagang Baka) today. When I'm about to finish cooking, whew! Today is Friday!!! :(

I've forgotten!!! Anyways, I just added lots of water, seasoning (salt + fish sauce and pepper), more vegetables-cabbage, green beans, and potato. The beef is just the flavor (sort of stock), that's the reason why my Beef Soup suddenly switched to Cabbage Soup 2!

Note: I'm not into cabbage soup diet, it so happen that I bought this big cabbage and the weather is cold. Thanks!

Cabbage and Tomato Soup

Cabbage SoupI bought 1 head of cabbage last night, deciding to saute it with beef. I took out the beef out of the freezer to thaw, then I realized today is Wednesday (no meat for me). I put it back in the freezer, just thought of making soup out of what I have. Here's the outcome, I used half of the cabbabe, 1 small carrot, 1 big tomato, celery, onion, garlic, fresh basil, dried dill, chili sauce, salt, and pepper to taste.
I have no broth ( I avoid using commercial broth), I boiled water, add few chopped shrimp just for flavoring. Put in the chopped onion, garlic, tomato, few drops of oil to boil. Followed by carrots and celery until soften. Add seasoning, then the cabbage and few fresh basil! Ready to serve...

Note: I'm not into cabbage soup diet!

Vege Salad in Kewpie Dressing

Japanese Creamy Sesame Salad Dressing
This is my favorite salad dressing from Japan. It's creamy sesame salad dressing made by Kewpie Co. and I always buy it in Costco. I was trying to search the real recipe, all I have is close to its taste. It's made from mayonnaise, soysauce, sugar, salt, vinegar, pepper, mirin, garlic powder, sesame oil, sesame seed, and sesame paste. It's also good in noodles alone.

Below are some of my favorite mix vege salad: romaine lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, and celery.
