Chicken Sopas (Soup)

An ordinary soup but taste great. After eating almost all the meat from roasted chicken, I boiled the left-over, removed all the chicken meat, and used the boiled water as the chicken stock in this soup. In the same pan, cooked a cup of noodles.  In another pan, sauteed garlic, onion, chicken meat, and carrots. Seasoned with salt and pepper, placed in the soup stock, added fresh milk, and a pinched of brown sugar. Added shredded cabbage and celery.

Another meal from left-over chicken.

Beef and Radish Soup

This is not from scratch, I have left-over steak the other day and just sliced in bite size. Peeled and cubed radish, sliced some green onion. Here it is, a meal for a day with my freshly baked Irish Soda Bread.

Boil water, add the beef (with its sauce) and radish. Let it boil, season with whatever seasoning of your choice. I just add a drop of Worcestershire and pepper. Sprinkle with green onion. Served.

Home-made Hot Pot Soup

January 2011 007.1

In winter time, pre-cooked ingredients for hot pot are availble everywhere. All I have to do is add any vegetables I want or fresh meat to make the soup tastier. Just boil water, season with whatever seasoning/flavoring available. Put all the ingredients in a boiling water. Now, ready to warm the body in this cold winter days. :)

Home-made Shabu-Shabu

It's time of the year where Hot Pot Soup (Shabu-Shabu) is in season. In Taipei, mostly the restaurants offer Eat All You Can. I decided to make my own, since I have my own electric stove as shown above. The only difference is the sauce. I only have wasabi in soysauce.

Well, some of the flavored ingredients were bought that way. The base soup is just like hot water and I added some seasonings (any of your choice). For the vegetables, I have string mushroom and romaine lettuce.

It's really a comfort food for me, yum!
