Weekend Food Tour: Glutinous Rice Ball Soup

February 17, ends the celebartion of Chinese New Year. Mostly people here are eating Tang Yuan 湯 圓 or Sweet Round Glutinous Rice Soup with Black/Red Beans on this day. The roundness of the glutinous rice symbolize the 15th day of Lunar New Year , the first full moon, and the family wholeness.
This is not much sweet, which is good!

  1. i think i have tasted something like that already, they usually served it here after your meal in a chinese restaurant...i like it and with your photo, it looks delicious! happy food trip friday! :)

  5. gosh,ako rin!!Kaka-miss ang ginataang bilo-bilo and for sure masarap din yang plain,kasi hinde overly sweetened^_^

  6. I've tasted this once in a food trip/walking tour in Chinatown. We're given just a couple of spoont but just the glutinous balls and sauce. I liked the taste but forgot what it's called. Now I know what to order when we visit a Chinese restaurant.

  10. I don't know if I have had some Glutinous Rice Ball soup before, but it reminds me of the binignit sort of food. :) It looks delicious though. Visiting via FTF.
